Terms of service
Effective July 5, 2026 · Invoice Seal is operated by STREX LLC ("we", "us")
These terms govern your use of Invoice Seal at invoiceseal.io. By creating an account or sending an invoice through the service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
1. What the service is
Invoice Seal is an invoicing tool for freelancers and small businesses. It lets you create and send invoices, optionally attach deliverable files whose download link stays sealed until the invoice is paid, collect card payments through Stripe, and track invoice activity. We provide the software; the commercial relationship on every invoice is between you and your client.
2. Your account
You sign in with a magic link sent to your email address. You're responsible for keeping access to that email account secure — anyone who controls it controls your Invoice Seal account. You must provide accurate business information on your invoices; in most jurisdictions the details required on an invoice are set by law, and complying is your responsibility.
3. Payments, payouts, and fees
- Card payments are processed by Stripe through Stripe Connect. Money paid by your clients goes to your own Stripe account, not ours. Stripe's own terms apply to your Stripe account.
- Platform fees apply only to card payments made through Invoice Seal: on the free plan, 5% of the invoice total on Seal invoices and 2.5% on standard invoices; on the subscriber plan, a flat 1%. The exact fee in dollars is shown in the composer before you send each invoice. Payments you collect outside the platform (for example a bank transfer) carry no platform fee.
- Subscription: the subscriber plan costs $29/month, billed through Stripe. You can cancel any time from the billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period, and your data and free-plan access remain.
- Refunds and disputes on client payments are between you and your client and are handled through your own Stripe account. We don't mediate commercial disputes.
4. Sealed deliverables
Seal invoices hold your deliverable link until payment clears, then release it to your client automatically. You're responsible for the content of the files you deliver and for hosting them at a working link (Dropbox, Drive, or similar). Watermarked previews you upload are stored in a publicly readable bucket — don't upload anything that can't be public in watermarked, reduced-resolution form. Once a Seal invoice is paid, the client receives your original link; we can't "re-seal" delivered work.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use Invoice Seal to invoice for anything illegal, to send spam, to deceive payers, or to deliver malicious or infringing files. Don't attempt to bypass the payment mechanics, probe the service for vulnerabilities, or interfere with other users. We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules, with a refund of any unused subscription period unless the breach is serious.
6. Your content
Invoices, client records, and files you upload remain yours. You grant us the limited licence needed to store, process, watermark, and transmit them in order to run the service, and no more. You can export or delete your data at any time by emailing contact@invoiceseal.io.
7. Service availability and changes
We aim to keep the service available and fast, but it's provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We may change or discontinue features; if we ever discontinue the service entirely, we'll give at least 30 days' notice and a way to export your data.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the platform fees and subscription payments you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for the actions of your clients, Stripe, or your file host.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced by email to account holders at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
